When you have a menu for client choice

Some food pantries like to have a separate team of volunteers preparing orders, while someone in the front is doing client intake. This makes the process more efficient.

To use this feature, you must first set up a menu in the Admin area. You can find the guide for that in the related articles section at the bottom of this article.

The rest of this guide assumes you have already set up a menu.

1. Go to the Prepare Orders section of the Client Intake area

2. View the orders that are ready to be prepared

Here you will see all of the orders that are ready to be prepared. As the volunteers doing client intake check people in, their orders will automatically show up on this screen, which is refreshed every 5 seconds.

3. Start preparing the order

Click the Start preparing button before you start boxing up the order. This way other volunteers know that someone is already working on it.

4. Click the Finish preparing button when the order is boxed up and ready to be handed out

This will move the order off of the Prepare Orders screen, onto the Handout Orders screen. That way everyone can see that it's ready to be handed out to the client.

5. Go to the Handout Orders screen

Whenever an order has been marked as finished preparing, it will show up on the Handout Orders screen. This is a list of all of the orders that are ready to be handed out to the client. Once you click the Handed out button, the order will roll off this screen.
